Teaching veterinary anatomy to my veterinary assis Teaching veterinary anatomy to my veterinary assistant students brings back memories to my first day of anatomy at vet school at Iowa State University. I remember feeling overwhelmed and “how can I get through all these species?!” But I quickly realized the importance of teamwork and collaboratively learning with my classmates.

I instill that on to my students. Our profession starts with teamwork in the classroom. Play to each other’s strengths and identify the learning challenges collaboratively. Learn and grow together as we continue to work together to achieve our goals!

What is your BEST piece of advice you can provide students on learning veterinary medicine regardless of role (vet assistant, technician, CSR, practice manager and veterinarian)?
Celebrating my one year work anniversary today. Ma Celebrating my one year work anniversary today. Making a career change within veterinary medicine can be challenging, overwhelming, and uncertain. This change happened 2 days before the pandemic hit so you can imagine how heightened all those feelings became!

I have to thank my inner circle of family and friends that have really helped me during this uncertain time. And a huge shout out to kindest and patient man I have the honor of calling my husband, Chris. Our 4 dachshunds fill each chamber to our heart.

Thank you to my MJH Life Sciences family for all your help and guidance. Being onboarded virtually was one for the books for me lol! Your reassurance was greatly appreciated.

And to my fellow veterinary professionals, thank you! I have learned and laughed sooo much from you. I cannot wait to meet you all in person as we take the show on the road!

Veterinary friends, PLEASE reach out to me should you want to talk about new job, career change or simply need someone to talk to. You are not alone and I am literally a zoom call away. I’d be happy to guide you and be sure you get “unstuck” to achieve personal success, growth and happiness! You all owe it to yourselves! ❤️🐾❤️
